Today the children will have brought home their green Phonics books. Inside are the 5 sounds and 5 key words that we have learnt this week. These books are to encourage your child to practice saying the sounds and reading the key words. The red words are tricky words, this means you cannot use your sounds to read them, so the children just need to learn these as sight words. The green books need to be brought back to school next Wednesday (September 3rd) so that we can stick in the new sounds and words.

Please remember to send in the blue Home Learning folder with their orange book and Norwegian sheet completed on Monday (September 1st).

We have had a really great first week and are so proud of how well the children are settling into their new school. Thank you Mums and Dads for all your support and we hope to see you at the Welcome Meeting on Tuesday the 26th August at 5pm. In this meeting we will have the opportunity to let you know more about what the children will be learning over this first term and how home learning will work in Grade 1. Have a lovely weekend.

Dear Grade 1 parents,

Welcome to the beginning of an exciting new school year. It has been a fun filled first couple of days where the children have enjoyed learning about school and their new grade.

A Unit 1 welcome letter will be posted early next week. There will also be a parent meeting next week with date and time soon to be confirmed.

In the meantime, please make sure your child brings suitable outdoor clothing for all types of weather. Children will go out for a break, even if it is raining.

At AIS, students will also need a healthy lunch, water bottle and a 

snack. One piece of fruit will be provided, but children will have a small snack break after recess for snack time. Below is an excerpt that can be found on the AIS website.
